Downloading and using different Mac OS installers is very common for troubleshooting purposes, for IT staff and admins, and for tinkerers. This article will discuss where to download and access installers for macOS Ventura 13, MacOS Monterey 12, macOS Big Sur 11, macOS Catalina, MacOS Mojave, MacOS High Sierra, macOS Sierra, Mac OS X El Capitan, OS X Yosemite, OS X Mavericks, Mac OS X Mountain Lion, Mac OS X Lion, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Leopard, Mac OS X Tiger, and others too.

Another option is to peruse the Apple Vintage Software collection at Archive.org which may have image files of older system restore disks and other older system software, just beware that archive.org is not an official distributor of Apple software so appropriate precautions should be taken and only download from there at your own risk.
I got the pop-up about FF 78.0.1 so went to -US/firefox/78.0.1/releasenotes/ and clicked on "Download Firefox" ( ). The download dialogue (image attached) that appeared said that it wanted to download "Firefox 78.0.1esr.dmg". The "esr" in the filename surprised me, as I'm not on any ESR release train. Why is it named that and not "Firefox 78.0.1.dmg", similar to its predecessors?
To Ram: You indirectly solved the problem. On -US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-macit says this:"Important - macOS 10.9, 10.10 and 10.11 users move to Extended Support Release"where that text is a link to -US/kb/macos-users-esr
That page says:"Firefox version 78 is the last supported Firefox version for macOS users of OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.10 Yosemite and OS X 10.11 El Capitan. These users will be moved to the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) channel by an application update. This will provide security updates until the next ESR update in July 2021, after which the affected users will no longer receive security updates."
I do not why this happened but if you wish to download Firefox on MAC please see this article: How to download and install Firefox on Mac Alternatively, you can also go to the link you provided: -US/firefox/78.0.1/releasenotes/ and scroll down and click on "All Firefox downloads". This will lead you to customize your download to fit the exact Firefox version along with the exact language and the exact platform you wish to install on. Let me know if this helps.

We are off to the races now! The first thing you will notice is that instead of downloading macOS Mojave Installer inside the App Store it opens Software Update. Software Update will search for the Installer and ask if you are sure you want to download the 6gb Mojave Installer. After clicking download you will get a new prompt for admin credentials to start the download (not to actually install yet). After the download completes you will finally have the latest macOS installer.app.
I showed you how to download the macOS installer through the Mojave Mac App store. The thing is, a better way to download the full installer exists and is called installinstallmacos.py. I was going to explain how to use installinstallmacos.py here but now realize the topic deserves a full article. I did not even get into hardware specific (Forked) builds. As you can see we have a lot to go over, so stay tuned. I will put the link here when complete.
Download the latest version available, and extract the ZIP file, which should reveal the script along with the resources used by the downloader script. Then, open Terminal on your Mac and type the following command: chmod +x
