He spent the summer of 1996 working as an Athletic Trainer at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA. Dennett also has 4 years of administrative leadership experience as Assistant Athletic Director at Colonial Forge High School in Virgina and Assistant Principal at South Glens Falls Senior High School in New York. Prior to his full time appointment at SUNY Adirondack in 2008, Dennett provided per diem coverage as an athletic trainer and was the Assistant Baseball coach at the college.
"My entire life has centered around family, education, teaching, athletics, competition and athletic training. I have been a part of so many memorable athletic experiences and have met so many inspiring people (athletes/coaches/athletic trainers) over the years. One thing I often like to share with my student-athletes is to always, "Play hard, have fun. Life is too short so make the most of every day."
Excluding trainers that always have shinies, yes a trainer can have a shiny Pokémon if and only if the Pokémon that they have are randomized. Most trainers in the games have a predetermined set of Pokémon and this won't happen to them, but in certain cases, NPCs will have a random set of Pokémon.

I am in the process of acquiring a bike trainer (likely CycleOps Fluid 2) for winter conditioning. Most of the reviews and other information I have read suggestion that a regular road tire will be damaged or quickly worn out on a trainer. What type of tires or specific models/brands should I look for use on a trainer? Should I get a different rear wheel/tire that I change out during the winter conditioning season?
To make it easier on myself I purchased a cheap wheel on eBay and added a trainer specific tire such as the Continental Ultra Sport Hometrainer Tire. When I used regular road tires, the rubber wore out quickly. The trainer specific tire lasts much longer.
I've used both regular road tires and the newer style trainer tires over the last 10 years and have gone through 4 different turbo trainers over the time including actually carving a half centimetre tire size groove into a Tacx Cycleforce-One trainer.
I tend to find that with trainer tires the colder running rubber actually slips on a metal roller while putting in hard efforts and sprint efforts. You really have to ask yourself the question- Do you need a specific tyre for indoor cycling training?
I've never personally got on with the trainer tires and know a large number of riders who have bought a trainer tire, only to place it on eBay a number of months later and revert to traditional road tires.
A regular road tire will work fine, but you should keep it inflated and not press the roller bar up against it overly hard. But there is no disadvantage to getting a really cheap tire and using it on the trainer -- it will work just as good as an expensive racing tire.

Are you unsure what parts to use? Begin with the description of the part, such as Cybex Arc trainer parts and work backward. The manufacturer offers a detailed list of other machines where the pieces are used. In this way, the ability to mix and match Cybex parts saves you money and time.
For anyone else who went hunting for an answer and found this thread, this is what I discovered. Yes, you do not have to go to the gym, and, yes, the Sim that your trainer can mentor are only those who are very much below level 10. I'm playing two Maxis-made characters in the Islands, and one was already maxed in bodybuilding and was a trainer. The other is an artist. I had the trainer talk to her, and the Mentor selection appeared. The same happened with her teenage son when he was on the treadmill. The second Sim must be in the process of exercising or the Mentor selection will not appear.
Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians. As a team, they work to help prevent injuries and provide emergency care. They identify injuries and provide treatment intervention. Athletic trainers also help with rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
Your indoor trainer is not only useful foor indoor training on bad weather days or a helpful tool for pro riders while waiting for a broken collar bone to heal. The value of your indoor trainer also lies in the endless possibilities to train exactly according to the right levels. In human performance physiology we call this specificity and it is the cornerstone of training. It comes down to this: if you want to become a better cyclist, just focus on riding your bike and your training goal. Sounds easy, but interestingly enough most people never really break down their training goal into the various ingredients.
To train at exactly the right intensity for an exact amount of time, the ERG mode setting is your best friend. All you need is a smart trainer and an app that can activate this mode. It lets you train on a specific target power. Your indoor trainer will subsequently keep you on that same target power regardless of your speed or cadence. Every change in your cadence is automatically adjusted by your trainer by applying more or less resistance to keep your power output constant. So, if you set the ERG mode at 200 watts, your trainer delivers more resistance at a low cadence and less resistance at a high cadence to keep your power at 200 watts. For this workout it is key to control your cadence and keep it at a desired rpm to avoid putting too much strain on your muscles. But, as with all things in life, you will never keep your cadence constant on the exact desired rpm. Therefore, the power output will show minor variations.
